The SKA aviary designed for conventional, organic or free-range laying hens farming. The structure facilitates the movement of the animals, respecting their natural aptitude for movement, keeping them active and healthy, in compliance with the regulations on laying hens.
Each module is 240 cm long and 266 cm wide, arranged in rows longitudinal to the shed, is supplied complete with equipment suitably sized according to the needs of each farm.
ZEUS wooden nests and egg collection
The nests are made of birch plywood, treated in a way that is easy to sanitize. Each module consists of four 120×45 cm holes; the hens’ entrance is on two fronts. The eggs laid on a special synthetic material mat roll gently towards a central collection channel, interposed between the nests. Through a perforated polypropylene belt, the eggs are conveyed to the special elevators in the front.
Thanks to the slope of the slatted flooring of the aviary, any eggs laid outside the nest roll gently inside the side boxes, where they remain protected until they are collected by hand. GEMMA can be supplied on request with automatic side collection systems.
Ejection system
The nests include an ejection system that allows automatic closing of the holes. Made up of mobile wire mesh panels, it closes the holes at set times with an alternating series of small movements and long pauses.
Feeding and watering
Correct feeding and watering are ensured by FLATLINE chain feeder circuits, positioned on the lower and upper floors; the drinkers are located in front of the nests and on the upper and lower levels of the aviary. The perches facilitate the movement of the animals inside the system and the shed.
Removal of chicken droppings
The lower and upper levels are equipped with 204 cm polypropylene belts that collect the chicken droppings and transport it to the end of the line where it is conveyed outside the shed.
Lighting system
Aviary lighting system composed of led tubes with adjustable brightness, present in the upper and lower levels of the aviary as well as under it.
