Tunnel

The premise consists of a prefabricated greenhouse in the shape of a tunnel with a galvanised steel supporting structure.
It does not require any special foundations nor curtain walls as it is supplied with insulating side panels, a concrete edge beam is enough.
The structure can be easily disassembled with the integral recovery of every single component.
The vaulted shape, the continuity of the materials used in the ceiling and roofing and the type of insulation provide excellent thermal insulation results. The positioning of the windows facilitates the air exchange at the height of the animals.
The tunnel is available in two widths, 9 or 10 metres, while the length is variable according to the customer’s needs.

Technical features

The load-bearing structure is made of 60 mm diameter sendzimir Z 275 galvanised tubular steel purlins, placed every 2 m and anchored to the foundations through lag bolts supplied by us.
The hot-dip galvanised couplings are reinforced by a central square tube tie rod and double flat iron side tie rods.
The sendzimir Z 275 galvanized steel square tube purlins and the galvanized steel wires placed at a distance of about 50 cm, run the whole length of the tunnel making the structure solid.
The stability and stiffening of the structure is guaranteed by a series of bracing arranged in both layer and wall on the first and last span.

With its vaulted shape, the external cover is made of high-grammage black polyethylene canvas, while the internal ceiling is made of white polyethylene canvas, providing a brighter environment.
For the insulation of the roof, glass wool mats treated with thermosetting resins are placed between the two coverings, with one side covered with polythene paper as a vapour barrier. Odourless and mould-proof.

The 500mm high and 35 mm thick sandwich panel walls and the 40 mm thick sandwich panel heads, equipped with single or double leaf doors, are mounted under the windows.

Continuous guillotine windows in translucid black canvas slide inside galvanised guides with pulleys, using nylon cables, main rope in galvanised steel, and winch.
The main feature of the guillotine windows is a considerable opening, which does not create any obstacle to the natural air exchange.
Only 80 cm from the floor, it allows a greater air exchange at the height of the animals, protecting them from strong winds.
